Getting ready for the holiday workload

The quote above is why I pull the crazy hours that I work. Here is a little background:
The companies that I run have different "Peak seasons" but the biggest business of them all (my first baby) makes the same amount of money in a 2 1/2 month window as it does the entire year. So, what would any reasonable business woman do? Ramp up business this season and automate a bunch of duties so we can handle the same business with minimal expense increase. I recently sold half of my business for a BIG chunk of change...with that money I plan to finance our customers directly. Who has the best underwriting? This chick. Do we have time to automate my underwriting for the season? Nope...but I can work on the automation data as I manually underwrite all of these loans. My partners don't think that is possible...7 days a week my friends. We work with the entire world; this means 7 day work weeks with 12-18 hour shifts. My response to them: "I know what I can handle...I've been working these hours since our doors opened"

So far, I think they are starting to believe I'm insane, extremely detailed oriented, and brilliant. No one really knows how to take my personality...sweet, angry, giving, short fused, perfectionist, and light-hearted all at the same time. One minute I'm laughing and the next I'm screaming. I never stay angry long and I laugh a lot. I dress appropriately for meetings and events, but have ascendancy to rock a ninja turtles T-shirt to work.

Anyways, I do the underwriting for hundreds of loans a week, manage our advertising, manage our team, study compliance, do our book keeping, plan future businesses, and do it effectively in my time. I will only be doing this underwriting until the middle of January when they can build a system that mimics the credit decisions this beautiful mind makes.

Here is a rundown of this weekend's hours and my hours today (so far):
I worked an all nighter on Monday and Thursday this week (no sleep at all). Since I can't prove it to you in blogs...you will have to take my word. I will try to keep updating my blogs throughout the day to show you the real hours I work.

I pulled an all nighter Thursday night then went home and took a shower and changed my outfit. I was back in the office by 800 AM on Friday, worked at the office until about 11 PM, came home, ate left over take out my husband had brought home earlier, then finalized the last loan for the night. I passed out at around 1:45 AM.

Saturday: Woke up at 8:30 AM in a great mood. Underwrote all day. We are open on Sat. from 10 AM - 9 PM, but will be open until 10 on Saturdays in about a week. I underwrote loans and worked on some accounting for the business hours and sent emails. From 10 PM - 330 AM I watched YouTube videos on Bing/Yahoo PPC, which I want to launch by the end of the week to reduce the 35k/month we spend on adwords. I don't want to risk a company messing up the details of our campaigns so I figured I would try to do it myself.

Sunday: Woke up at 9:00 AM to a bacon, egg, & cheese biscuit from Bojangles and sweet tea! I have the best husband...he loves me no matter how many hours I work! I started underwriting and watching more YouTube videos on Bing Advertising. I took a shower and IMd the staff that I would be unavailable for 30 minutes. I started writing this blog and have been blowing through underwriting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of loans for my staff. It's about 10 until 5 and my wonderful husband is off getting Chinese take out for dinner.
At 6 PM, I will be working on accounting for all the numbers for the week to send my partner a summary when we close and a copy of our P&L from QuickBooks.

Take out just got here and I have another loan application to review...will give you more updates shortly. :)
